On June 23rd, 2007 the West Tennessee RC Flyers hosted the second annual Mid-America Combat Championship. The contest drew many of the country's best combat pilots from as far away as Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin.  Pilots started arriving mid-day Friday to practice followed by an evening get together at a local Jackson eating establishment.

Saturday the twenty-six contestants flew eight rounds consisting of three five minute heats of eight or nine airplanes in the air towing thirty foot streamers the object is for each pilot to try to snag as many others streamers as he can. The person scoring the most streamers at the end of the day is the winner.

The weather was mostly clear, mid-nineties, and 5-10mph winds.

A great time was had by all. the winner was Lee Liddle from Dallas Texas.

West Tennessee RC club members of note. Tim Treneff took 4th place and Danny Wheeler took 9th place in his first ever combat event.
